Espoo-Vantaa Polytechnic Students Union EVAMKO reg. Welcomes you to Finland and Espoo-Vantaa Polytechnic. EVAMKO invites you to join the student life and events we will arrange during the time you stay here in Finland. EVAMKO“s main mission is to maintain the unified student culture in the Espoo-Vantaa Polytechnic and due to the mission EVAMKO offers you the following services and entertainment possibilities: EVAMKO“s very own AMK Club in Helsinki's center on the first Wednesday of the month (6.9, 4.10, 1.11, 29.11). Dance music, performances, competitions, hundreds of polytechnic students and lots of fun are included in these party nights. Keep an eye out for our advertisements in your institution and find out more!! A Huge freshmen party called FUKSIAISET takes place in 13th September in Helsinki. Remember to be there! EVAMKO is at your service whenever you have problems with your studies or other things concerning your studies. Don't be afraid to contact us. If there are any problems assistance will be given by your local student union and your tutor. They will advise you and if they think you should contact EVAMKO they will help you to do so. EVAMKO represents students in many different boards in the Espoo-Vantaa Polytechnic and watches over student's interests. If you think that there is something that should be improved, let us know and we'll see if there is something that EVAMKO can do about it. There are also local student unions in each institute and they are the people that you are in contact with at least weekly. They will give you information about all the important issues and events that are about to happen. Student Card If you wish, you can order a student ID card through EVAMKO. It is not compulsory to have one but the card entitles you to a number of discounts in public transportation, theatres, opera, museums and shops in Helsinki and elsewhere in Finland.
