7.2.1.4 EF250 PROFESSIONAL INTENSIVE STUDIES 20 cr
The professional intensive studies (20 cr) in nursing orientation consist of the philosophical and theoretical foundations of nursing, ethical issues and decision making, special issues of nursing expertise as well as multiculturalism. Also the areas of technology, multiprofessional work and networking, self-management, quality management, change, research and development as well as issues concerning the future of nursing are included in the professional intensive studies.

The studies are built on a thematic integration of contents with clinical studies. The minimum length of clinical studies in professional intensive studies is 10 credits. In addition to the intensive studies there are some optional study paths. The professional intensive studies will be completed during the sixth and seventh terms with 10 cr each term.

Objectives The students develop their professional competence and themselves as well as critical approach to nursing and its development.

They do their own research work and show the mastery of its content in the maturity test.

They have an extensive knowledge of nursing so that they will be able to work independently as well as in multiprofessional teams in the different environments of nursing and health care
