Objective and content:
This course will focus on introducing New Media students to the many possibilities journalism offers in the working world at large. Beginning with formulating a tight hard-news lead paragraph, utilizing the inverted pyramid style of story design, and coming up with bold, catchy headlines, class participants will progress to pitching and writing their own features, hard news, press releases, ad copy and other time-honored media forms.
